Just no. I read the rather breathless reviews about lighting and camera angles and speech patterns. Movie making. Film school. And sure, it has some technical interest. Frantic running into the night and then frantic driving in shiny 50's sedans. The actual plot will only appeal to UFO buff 12 year olds of all ages. If that isn't you, it never gets any better. Nicely made. I was born in New Mexico and just...........NO.

On a par with Mars Needs Women, this is in the genre of "we just do it, we don't have to explain it. I'm getting over a cold this afternoon so let's watch, "what many are calling the best sci-fi movie of the year". Trite, clichéd, eminently predictable. "We don't have an ending so let's just teleport to another planet and fade off." This is what happens when you let people who live on B if not C movies write reviews. NO. This is not the best sci-fi of any year, ever. And let's not even get started on the technical mistakes. Sure, it's enjoyable. Yes, the lady is nice. It's another view of New Zealand. If you think it's the best of anything you need to go back to school. OK. I want to be generous and not mention how it drags in spots

If you are easily amused this might be for you. Adventure movies are supposed to have adventures. This has a couple. And then they keep cutting to people trying to 'splain things. Every once in a while the screen will go black. I have no idea why. Now (I am on the last 13 minutes) we are stupid: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. I get that they think the jumpy video is dramatic but did they really fly to Jupiter with 1970's A/V equipment?
