This series is a much more realistic depiction of the racial & gender discrimination that existed during the period of time in which "A League of Their Own" is set. The real police raids of Gay/Lesbian bars during this time are also shown in this series. The family shunning of a trans character & the necessity of hiding ones sexuality was part of the show & a part of that era. Watch this show to realize how far we've come as a country but also to know how far we still need to go. Great characters who bring our hearts along with them in their journeys.
