It takes gumption to dab wild unsynchronised unconventional strokes in shades of grey along with myriad muted shades on cliched and hackneyed love stories.
Directed by Akiv Ali and written by Luv Ranjan, it explores so many aspects of relationships hitherto unannounced amidst family settings. Yeah OK India, a father can discuss a live-in in a totally subjective manner. Father of a daughter, that is.
A wife can plan her husband's happiness and vice versa independent of each other. Grandparents may not understand the quirks of the present generation but certainly accept it and move on happily in their lives.
And all this so subtly done without the protagonists launching into passionate discourses and holier than thou attitude!
The events flow smoothly and merge into an entertaining wholesome movie with lots of themes and messages to chew on.
When love is true.... Everything is right and makes sense.
The ends justify the tough thorn studdied journey. If it's true love! You will get it! Nothing more nothing less.
And so is the movie titled.
Actors are superb especially Rakul Preet Singh and Tabu. Devgan's strength is his restraint.
Must must watch.
