I love so much of what Alan Merrill does, he writes catchy tunes, sings them so well and he plays most of the instruments on his albums. The album "Radio Zero" starts out with two strong power pop songs and then, like wading into the ocean things get deeper as you go along. The songs "Goodbye, Rock N Roll Heroes" "Don Quixote Absolutely" and "Dark Music" have a lot of pathos and soul. Speaking of soul, the R&B ballad "Love Just Happens" is stand-out. The album ends with a lovely jazz flavored tune called "Long Road Home" and it left me wanting to play this album all over again!
