Perhaps Ms Allen’s priv life does not allow her to realize not all children in hockey are wealthy, maybe that was her bubble. I live in a community in Northern BC. Small town with not many activities for youth. We are a very diversified both in school and sports. It is a daily struggle to keep our youth off the streets and making poor choices. That money put towards sports is priceless. The comment regarding taking my child on a trip is not well thought through- maybe in your privileged world. But here, that would keep my child busy for one weekend. How much would it cost me to take my son on a world trip every weekend for the next few years to keep him off the streets? Sorry, Because I am not wealthy it is not an option. I can however work overtime and provide him sports for a full season, we then rotate to another sport for the summer months. I would love to have Ms Allen visit these northern communities- Clearly her bubble might be rich boys. Ours is not, Bless the parents who try to do everything they can to keep their sons and daughters busy. She is obviously uneducated that there are in fact communities that do not have the same wealth you all have. I’m sorry you are all in that bubble. Perhaps Ms Allen could donate some of her wealth to Northern BC communities to provide activities and entertainment for our children. She could fund our children to go on holidays as she mentioned. We have no recreation center, our bowling alley is shutting down - perhaps she’d like to provide these for our children. Or if she so feels, perhaps she could provide me with some parenting tips on other options to keep these children busy?...Oh no, her answer is taking them on trips
