In my opinion, the movie is great but it's nothing like the books. I have read all three books and they are interesting and capture everything in detail, almost effortlessly, but the movie is a different subject. The movie is great but it doesn't capture everything like the books do. The movie is like if The Hunger Games was rewritten by someone who pays no attention to detail or imagery. I love the movie and the books though. In my brain they are completely different though.
