Very tragic and heartbreaking story and the ending destroyed me. This book is easily my favorite in the series and it shows us the cruelty of this post-apocalyptic world and how scary the flare is and its effects on the human mind. I loved the cast of characters and I rooted for them the whole time and that ending just tore me apart. Mark and Trina's loving embrace at the end with all the memories coming back to Mark of his innocent childhood days and life with Trina and Trina herself remembering Mark and saying his name in the final moments.....
