Strong performances by supporting cast are held back by the stiffness of the show's leads. Awkward blocking lends an uncammy soap-opera melodrama to scenes. Many plots feel like recycled scifi tropes that often end with a Deus ex machina to save the day. The worst offense to my mind is inconsistent character motivations that betray black of integrity to their design.
