Captain Marvel is an “okay” or “so-so” movie. It’s not as bad as you’d expect it to be, it is not as good either. It is a kinda bland flavored offering in the MCU universe, which is kinda disappointing after all the controversy and hype surrounding its pre release.
You could come in to watch with the prejudice against heavy handed SJW feminist propaganda hoping to get some cringe out of it, and come out feeling nothing, as if the message was just background noise you could forget in a day.
Brie Larson’s performance is not as stellar or as bad as you expected as well, you might mistake that she plays a background character. That is saying a lot when the titular character got upstaged by a supporting actor (Sam Jackson) and a cat (a bunch of cats played the role of Goose though, technically).
Okay I kinda like 90’s soundtrack and references, but then again, it falls short from being what 70’s and 80’s nostalgia did for Guardians of the Galaxy.
All in all you could go see Captain Marvel once and be done with it, or you could just skip it without missing anything for Endgame, or you could wait until it is on some streaming service.
