Putin's Road to War reinforces the view that Russian meddling in the 2016 election resulted in Clinton's loss and emboldened Putin to conclude that the US is weak and vulnerable. If Frontline is the source of bold unflinching journalism, it should have moderated or excluded this statement based on the recent multiple, thorough investigations that reached the opposite conclusion. The highly publicized Russian collusion line reiterated almost endlessly in the press during the campaign and in Congress over the succeeding four years likely emboldened Putin as much if not more than anything Trump did by shaking hands with him. Yet none of this was mentioned. In so doing, PBS portrays Putin as a skilled puppetmaster, providing yet another public relations victory for him. You can expect the Russian media to use this PBS documentary along with Tucker Carlson's opinions to further burnish Putin's standing in Russia.
