I'm from the US visiting friends in the UK and I made them watch it. I wanted to like it, I really did. It's not the cast's fault. Each of them is very talented and worked with the material they had. I had no idea who Jessica De Grouw was and loved her. And I think Sam Heughan did as much as he could to add depth to his character (his accent wasn't so bad, give the guy a break). But I've seen Dries Vos' stuff before and it's just not very good. If they had 1) eliminated Danny's corruption subplot (added nothing and was left unresolved anyway), 2) instead developed Evie's character more, including her backstory and 3) added 1 or 2 additional episodes to flesh all of the characters out more, then they would have had something. I'll watch it again when it comes to the US and maybe I'll feel differently. I hope so.
