The robots are not actually evil in this like in the game, which was really baffling to me at the time. They even befriend the main character's little sister in a montage sequence that you'd have to see to believe. There are attempts at slapstick with the robots in said sequence. The main character has unresolved trauma after his brother got kidnapped when they were young. Then I think the robots were possessed by other children that were also kidnapped. And they communicate together through his dreams while he sleeps on the job. What the hell? Why is this in the movie? I don't understand. The plot is incomprehensible, with characters acting really strange. For example, there's a lady cop that just kinda shows up in the movie out of nowhere, and doesn't behave like a cop at all. In those cases, you just know there's a twist coming. But even after finishing the movie, I don't have a clear idea of what was up with her
