This astounding book brought out so many emotions - the strongest being one of shame. Shame that I had been too busy with the day to day problems of everyday life to take time and fully understand or even truly care about the plight of illegal immigrants. Shame that I had never taken time to become fully educated around the issues. Shame that I didn’t take a stronger stance and didn’t have a stronger voice combating the “illegal alien” narrative.
