first studio album since 2008, to put this in perspective, some Cure fans might've died before even hearing the Live renditions of these songs. Every album since Wild Mood Swings has been quite a let down, maybe Bloodflowers might be a little bit better, but still not as great as anything from the Imaginary Boys-Wish run, but this, this is Robert Smith at his most vulnerable and lyrically mature form, this is an album that deals with assimilation of getting old, grief, death, war, existentialism, love, heartbreak and loss, the musical texture of this album is one of a kind, it feels withered, old, broken, and completely perfect for the themes of the album. And like a fine wine, Robert's voice hasn't changed since 79, still nailing it every. single. time, the instrumental breaks in this albums are definitely worth listening to, even if you have a short attention span, probably top 5 Cure album, and I'm hoping im not getting influenced by the recency bias.
