Please read this review in its entirety. I was cautious about watching this movie. I grew up watching the original Willy Wonka. Then watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Not too impressed with the second version, (didn't hate it, it just wasn't great imo), I approached this carefully. I was already slightly uninterested watching the trailer. Wonka is eccentric, weird, and quite the madman in his chocolate adventures. The previews didn't seem to capture the madness that was he. Boy am I glad I watched it! The hidden easter eggs, the nostalgia feel, and the catchy songs? Amazing. Then the portrayal of Willy Wonka by Timothée Chalamet? Spot on. The writers did good, but his acting made it marvelous. I loved the movie and everything about it. From the songs, to the story, to the cheesiness of it all. Amazing. Even my younger kids enjoyed it. Give this movie a go!
