I have not read the books by Anne Rice but I HAVE struggled to get through this first iteration attempting to translate a "good" book to screen and I can tell you that it does, indeed, suck. The storyline is all over the place and no train of thought is complete. I will never get the time I spent watching 7.25 episodes back but I am sooooo happy I found these reviews! I will NOT be watching the rest of this, last, episode. I'm not sure who the main character, Rowan, is supposed to be but she is weak and stupid. I guess that, based on the reviews here, the books were/are good, but I won't even bother reading them. This show has given me a horrible taste for the story. Do NOT waste your time with this show. If you want a good and interesting series about witches try A Discovery of Witches. I will say that the books int the triology were a lot better and a lot of good stuff is left out in that series, but it made freaking sense and even though I would have cast most of the characters with other actors (based on book descriptions), the acting was solid and the story captivates whether you read the All Soul's Triology or not. This show is CRAP.
