I never usually leave reviews: I didn’t like it, I wish I could give it 0 stars. The trailer was NOTHING like the actual show, and I was WAITING for the show to come out. IF YOU LIKE KDRAMAS DO NOT WATCH, THIS ISN’T ANYTHING LIKE ONE. Acting wasn’t that great either (only some people). This show is a waste of time. She was supposed to go off and have a little light drama romance with her cute Korean long distance sweetie boyfriend (Dae, WHO IS BARELY IN THE SHOW AND IS LIKE AN EXTRA). and be in a love triangle with the cute Minho guy, but instead ends up all confused and “in love” with a girl and be whiny about the girl already having a girlfriend. I DID NOT like the main girl’s character. She would get too obsessed and infatuated too. The LGBTQ was very forced and portrayed as an agenda(I have no problem with gays, but this was forced on purpose and wasn’t natural- I wouldn’t have been surprised if EVERYONE in the show was gay, everytime a new secret was revealed I thought it would be someone saying they are gay: no joke), the show portrays more lust and temptation versus love, the main chick’s character development was weak and the fact she suddenly caught feelings for Yuri out of no where was definitely a big screw up. She was incompetent and fickle minded and we are supposed to like her? No thanks, she isn’t realistic. Most of the relationships made, made no sense. It was so very rushed. The show felt really rushed and it felt as if I was watching a fanfiction. They had a cute, original storyline for the first few episodes and a cute romance, that was immediately ruined by too many tropes being added. I am a writer, no books published (YET), and I know how to tell when things are rushed. Not only that, but the plot was way too jumpy and VERY VERY VERY few moments were like a kdrama, the rest was like some western kpop fanfiction. It was also extremely unrealistic for not only being set in Korea, but also a school. I don’t feel it really captured the Korean culture when it was supposed to be set there, I love America, I am American- but I also don’t like the way the show portrayed that side either. It was like stereotyping two cultures and writing a fanfiction about a kpop school. I know there was no kpop in the school except for very few moments, but that’s what it felt like. I can go more in depth with this describing holes, wrong turns, etc. in the writing, but I’m sure I’ve given people enough to rage about. I feel like people are only liking this show because some of the actors were good looking and it is a sequel to “All the Boys I Loved Before.” Also no disrespect to the actors, some of them were probably trying to debut as actors or get more popular, as someone who has been in theatre, I wouldn’t have accepted the role personally. I did like the Ok Taec-yeon appearance though and the kpop songs!
