Honestly, the movie has all the qualities to be great except pacing. It DRAGS, and the ambient, eerie music ended up putting me to sleep instead of creating unease.
The story is actually really good and interesting, but I kept having to re-watch parts because I couldn't stay awake.
Also, Nicholas Cage, I love him, but he was too much in this role. It ended up being preposterous instead of scary. The makeup did all the heavy lifting for the role. I still love him, but he wasn't scary, just very silly.
