Dobaaraa review: Tapsee looks tired, uninterested, and boring in the entire film. Though the direction was on point by Anurag Kashyap. Loved his no smoking with John when it came out. It’s good to see him doing such kind of film after all these years. Also, this film is an official remake of the Spanish known as mirage Before explaining the storyline, let me educate you about a theory known as the butterfly effect. Where one event in the past can do tremendous changes in the future. So the concept of a parallel universe is introduced here. Saying that let's deep dive into the movie. In the movie we are shown three timelines: Timeline 1: Here we are introduced to a 12-year-old boy, who lives with his mother and uses a video recorder to record himself through an old-fashioned TV. While recording he notices some disturbance happening with their neighbor. He goes to investigate the case and finds the neighbor’s wife dead. Panicked he tries to run out of the house and gets killed by a fire truck. Note that all these scenarios are happening in Pune in 1996 and there is a deadly thunderstorm that is happening outside. Timeline 2: After 25 years, we are again introduced to Pune and the same storm is taking place that happened in 1996. Tapsee has a little girl and a cheating husband who works as head of hotel security. While unpacking her new house she comes across a video recorder and TV. Professionally she acts as a nurse. Tapsee stays in the same house where the boy used to live in 1996. As she opens the TV, she sees that boy talking to her. Tapsee already knows that the boy will get killed today as she had read a news article from 1996 on her laptop that reported the accident of the 12 yr old boy. She saves the boy from getting killed and we introduced in timeline 3. Timeline 3: Now Tapsee wakes up at a strange house, she doesn’t recognize the interior of her house, and right at that time she gets a call on her phone. A nurse calls her and asks her how fast she can be at the hospital as the patient is ready for the operation. Now she gets mad by hearing this as she was a nurse a night back and now she is a surgeon. He calls the police and tells him, that she is unable to track her daughter and she does not why everyone is calling her a surgeon. Strangely the police officer believes her story and sticks with her. Twist: After a few scenes, we get to know that the police officer is the husband of the Tapsee and also the boy that she talked back in 1996 hence he believes her story and he knows that it is true since he faced similar things back in 1996. Tapsee gets mad finding this out, he says why hasn’t he said this earlier when they were dating and after marriage. He explained that the whole world did not believe me and saying these to her might have hampered the relationship. Tapsee is still not convinced curses him and she gets hit by a car. The same way the boy was hit by the fires truck in 1996 Ending The police officer now opens the TV and tries to connect with his younger version in 1996. Tells the boy to stop connecting with Tapsee and looking for her. Focus on your timeline only. When the boy agrees, the lights go out and we see the old Tapsee who is a nurse back with his daughter. This is it this film. Note: I deliberately missed some details like the murder of the neighbor and how it happened. If stated that then the review would go on forever as this is a parallel universe concept. Should you watch it: Yes, but not because the Tapsee looked boring but because of the concept and direction of Anurag Kashyap.

Don’t know why people are hating on Shamshera for no reason, the film has an satisfactory storyline and praiseworthy VFX, I see little fault with the story too. I loved this movie and I think it's worth your money and time. Every song is justified except the underwater romance song with Vani Kapoor. Gosh, this woman gave me a serious love attack with her toned body and dancing skills. Ranbir Kapoor as Shamshera and Bali ( shamshera’s son ) is phenomenal. Storyline: Khameran was a specific group of people who lived as tribals with Rajputs. When Mughals defeated the Rajputs, they got thrown out to the land of Kaza. Kaza treated khamerans as lower caste and abandoned them from their land and left them out of desserts. With no food and water, they were about to become extinct when a khameran known as shamshera told their tribe that enough is enough and now they are dacoits whose sole purpose is looting local kings to survive. They were feared and hence the upper caste of Kaza contacted the Englishmen for help. The upper caste of Kasa offered the English Tribe 50 k gold and free salves to fight the kamerans. The British made Khamerals an offer that they would be given a promised land and not kill their tribe if they would surrender. They could live there peacefully. This was a trap and all the khamerans were assembled in the Kaza fort and were tortured and killed. Fast forward 25 years Samshera’s son Balli ( also played by Ranbir Kapoor ) is ashamed of his father as leader of the clan and desperately wants to become an officer of the British army. Getting to know his father's real story and taking revenge on his father is the rest of the film. What I like about this film 1. The entry scene of Ranbir Kapoor as Shamsera when he marches for loot along with his soldiers and the title song of the film playing in the background. 2. When shamshera is hanged publicly and announced as a traitor from his tribe. 3. The beating that Bali gets to form #Sanjay Dutt thinking that he could be an English officer. 4. The entire VFX of the film beautifully created the atmosphere of the 1800s. 5. Vani Kapoor and her sizzling dance moves. 6. sanjay Dutt acting as the negotiator for the upper caste. 7. Ranbir as Bali and how he effortlessly dances to the song “ Ji Huzoor “ 8. Ranbir training to be an officer under the guidance of Pir Baba played by Ronit Roy. 9. The climax scene where Ranbir Kapoor hangs Sanjay Dutt and stones him to death What I disliked 1. Underwater romance scenes by Ranbir and Vani, which was uncalled for. When you have such a big mission of avenging your tribe, how could you even think of sex and romance? 2. The performance of Shamshera’s wife played by Iravati Harshe should have put more effort into her acting, as she looked expressionless. 3. Very less screen presence for an incredibly talented actor Ronit Roy. 4. The weird and strange relation of crows with shamshera 5. Vanni Kappor giving birth to Bali’s child in middle of war. After a disaster like Prithvi Raj Chauhan from YRF, this film is definite Resurrection From Aditya Chopra.

Jug Jugg Jeeyo Review: A refreshing start from Bollywood Storyline – Nothing new, the same folklore were a married couple who were school lovers before, fell out of love as time progressed. During this struggle, they are called to attend the marriage of Varun Dhawan's sister played by Prajikta Kohli. This is where they recover from their broken relationship. JugJugJiyo is a beautiful film that portrays the struggles of married relationships. The comedy factor is taken care of by Anil Kapoor and he has overshadowed every star cast in the film. From being a fun-loving man who lives life to the fullest and then changing into a man who is sorry for loving another woman other than his wife. This film brought the magical performance of this legendary actor. Besides this is good to see Varun Dhawan put an effort into this film as you will love his performance too. Kiara Advani as Varun's wife maintains the beauty quotient while Neetu Singh shows she could still kill at this age. Overall a fantastic movie that is filled with laughter, emotion, and drama. A must-watch for every man or woman who is struggling in marriage and finding it hard to stick together. Keep your seats reserved for JugJugJiyo this weekend. Special mention: Manish Paul boy I did not know you could act so fine and be such a phenomenal comedy actor. Bruv, your performance was praiseworthy.

The second half has been a game changer for this film. Suddenly the film breathes life, content, acting, and cinematography. Storyline - An MLA's daughter falls in love with a boy who has been a reason that he is MLA of Missouri today. The guy keeps to himself. He does what he is told to and doesn't cross boundaries. Fast forward a few days the guy falls in love with MLA’s girl and plans to marry her no matter what. The girl gets married to some other guy and this makes him drunk and very tough to handle. Twist - Now you must be thinking that the MLA might have forced his girl to marry someone else but the answer is a no. The girl already had a bf in London for the past two years and in Missouri, she just wanted a guy for entertainment. All the sex, all the kiss, and all the love promises were fake since she was bored in Missouri. Her plan was all along to marry a guy from London. All this was a plan to make her father angry and so her father quickly makes her marry to the guy of her choice. Should you watch it: Absolutely yes. The second half is a game changer. Just don't go out before the interval. The second half is massive, you will leave the hall happy.

The concept of mental illness and trauma has been a highlight of this film. A beautiful storyline made by the director. Story - An Telegu doctor from new Delhi visits Bihar for a personal job and finds himself married to a girl who has been making plans with her lover since 14 years of age but hasen’t been successful. Twist - There is no love, but there is an imaginary lover which the girl imagines and thinks her lover is real. The mental trauma she has seen at the age of 14 when are parents died from a fire has created a figure who will always protect her no matter what. The imaginary lover is Akshay Kumar and the girl is Sara Ali Khan. As the story continues the Telugu doctor played by Dhanush gives her medication to heal so that she could overcome depression. A must-watch movie since the concept is fresh and new

Bob Biswas Review: A fine attempt to murder mystery Storyline - A man from a coma comes to his senses after 8 years. He is introduced to his family his wife and his two children ( one his own and one from the wife's previous husband ) After the introduction, he is told to kill men who sell drugs to children. This is a drug that increases attention in young teenagers who wants to clear their engineering exam or medical exam. He kills them, as he thinks that he is made to do this. During this journey, he gets a job to kill the head of police who is investigating the matter. Bob refuses to kill the police and that's when every hell breaks loose. His wife is killed in this process. He takes the matter into his own hands and starts investigating the case Twist - Bob is shot by his daughter since she was taking the blue pill to clear her medical exam. She shoots her father for the drug since the mafia promises her a packet of tablets if she does it. One bullet hits Bob but he still survives. Should you watch it - Yes. Abhishek Bachchan has put a lot of weight on doing this role. He is funny and also a vicious killer. Chitrangda Singh looks stunning as a Bengali wife. She is super hot and does pleasant acting. Kolkata is shown as beautiful and the shoot happens in multiple locations.

Good Luck Jerry: Besides Janvi Kapoor's promising performance, two side actors steal the limelight. The last 50 minutes of the film are chaotic, useless, and make absolutely no sense Storyline: Jerry played Janvi Kapoor lives in Punjab, and works in a massage parlor while his sister is unemployed and his mother makes momo for a living. The mother makes the momo while it is distributed by the people of Darjeeling that lives in the Punjab. One day while shopping, Jerry's mother coughs blood, and doctors say that is second-stage cancer and would need 20 lakhs for the treatment. Since the famously is incredibly poor, jerry comes across a drug lord in Punjab, who would give her money for her mother’s treatment if she aggress to make drug deliveries. She happily aggresses to do it and does it so brilliantly that no police could catch her deliveries. They are untraceable, fast, and unmatched. While other gang members supplying drugs are getting caught by the Punjab Police, she makes deliveries effortless process. One day, she plans to leave the job and this is where things start to go haywire. The distributor of the drug lord calls her to make a 100kg delivery for her last mission and after that, she will be free forever. Jerry has a mind of her own and she thinks once the delivery is made the drug kingpins would kill her and this prediction comes right as they were planning to kill her. This is the last 50 minutes, she changes the drug first with salt, then with sugar, and then with flour. This creates confusion among the drug lord and they get supermad every time they find that it is not drug but something else. This according to me was useless, only single twist in the climax was a need; Anand L Rai gave multiple twists in the last 50 minutes and got it extremely boring. What I liked about this film 1.The fear on her face when she is about to get caught by a policeman while making one of her deliveries 2.The compulsion of getting money even through crime. Incredible comedy timing by side actors Deepak Dobriyal and Sahil Mehta What I did not like 1.Too many twists in the climax making it boring and complex Should you watch: Yes because Janvi Kapoor gives a promising performance, but it’s not that great. She needs to grow as an actor by acting more.

The Lost Daughter": Compex Narrative with a deep message. An average audience will have to watch the film twice to get the real meaning behind the film. I read multiple articles on the film and finally got the answer. he lost daughter is an adaptation of a book written by Elena Ferrante. There are some promising scenes, and there is some incredible acting but I do believe the story needed more attention. The film could have turned out to be more polished. That doesn’t mean that I will shy away from praising Olivia Colman. She played the character Leda in the film and she was mind-blowing. So Leda becomes pregnant at a very young age and she had to take care of her two daughters. As she was so young, she did not have the maturity to handle kids and did not understand the role of a mother and the amount of selfless love that needs to be given to her child. Hence she was always irritated with her daughters. As she was preparing to be a professor, he daughter constantly needed her attention. This made her mad and one day she chooses to leave out of this marriage life and take a break. Though her husband begged to stay. She left. She prioritized herself more than her daughter and started having an extramarital affair with another man. Fast forward 20 years she is now a professor and had come to Greece for a vacation. Here she is interrupted by a group of people who are loud and noisy. They are dangerous people but their group consists of Dakota Johnson. She also has a daughter and within an instant, she can relate to what is like being a mother at a young age. Leda feels that she has seen the younger version of her in Dakota. She is also fed up with his daughter, desperately wants to leave her current situation, and has an extramarital affair with some other guy. This is the same as how Leda was back then. One day Dakota’s child loses her doll. Leda finds the doll and keeps it. This is because the doll reminded her of the time she used to play with her kids. Once she comes out clean that she is the thief, Dakota calls herself a sick woman and stabs her with a needle pin. Now with the stab, she leaves the town and crashes on a beach with her car. She goes unconscious and the next day she is woken by a phone call from her daughters Bianca and Martha. She talks to them and the film ends here. Message: This shows the pain of a young mother. A woman who can't decide her life herself is given the challenge of managing two others. How does she manage? what are her mental breakdowns? why did she leave her husband? The film explores all.

Darling is a very powerful movie on Alcohol abuse. This shows that even a loving man can turn into an abusive husband when alcohol hits the liver. It messes up the mind and takes away the ability to think straight. The film is named Darlings because husband calls his wife Alia Bhatt darling as soon as he enters home. This is an indication that the am has entered the house and now needs to treat like a king. Alia Bhatt has done a fantastic job no doubt, but your eyes will not shift beyond Hamza Sheikh played by Vijay Sharma. Shefali shah acting as the mother of Alia Bhatt played a good supporting actress, but I believe there could have been more scenes where Shefali shah could show her brilliance Storyline Alia Bhatt is an average Mumbaikar who wants a simple life. A loving man, a stable job for a husband, and a house. She gets a man, but the man is a devil hiding behind an innocent face. Whenever Alia Bhatt messes up his dinner, she gets trashed left, right and center. This is a Goosebumps scene. Every time he finds stones in his biryani and way he looks at Alia Bhatt is deadly. Also, the man becomes short-tempered when he gets drunk. He attempts to kill Alia when he knows that Alia is making him eat a pill that will take away his alcohol addiction. This scene is traffic too. Note: The alcoholic husband is not a bad man. As soon as he gets rid of the hung-over, he is extremely sweet and caring to his wife. But becomes the devil every night. He justifies his drinking since as TC in Indian railways all he has to do is clean toilets. This is his frustration. Still this cannot be justified as you know that you hitting your wife each day with a conscious mind. Fast forwarding the movie, we see Alia Bhatt always having a bruised face and her unborn child gets killed in this process. This is when Alia Bhatt teams up with his mother and a few of allies to make his husband fall under house arrest. Alia Bhatt and her team take the help of injections so that he sleeps all day and all night. Ties his entire body with rope and other materials and makes him confess (over a video) that he is an alcoholic husband and an abusive man. After this, they plan to kill him permanently by making him lie on the train track. After some time, she realizes that this is not right and would be actual murder. She cannot sleep with this guilt and hence tells him to leave them and go on his own to Ratnagiri (the husband's original house). The husband curses Alia Bhatt saying that she will never be happy, and while doing that the train hits him and he dies. Not expected: Shefali Shah having a lip lock with a man who looks like her son. I know that India is booming with guys who are Aunty Lovers, but Jesus Christ she is an incredible actor who cannot be compromised with these useless scenes Message: A man may be drunk and beat his wife, but if the wife decides that she would not be beaten at any cost, then the real change will take place. A man only has power if the woman allows it. Should you watch: That is without a question. As it is a must-watch.
