My son loves this movie. Plenty of music adults will enjoy with a plot that is interesting. My son loved Sing, and the cast is phenomenal. Dreamworks has officially carried the torch Disney dropped. A few things:
- The comedy is actually good.
- The actors actually care about the project.
- The animation is interesting. There's a single stop animation scene that's a little strange, but it's a welcome visual treat for those of us who grew up with it.
- It features probably the best cover of "I Say a Little Prayer for You" I've heard.
Downsides:
- One of the primary points of Clay Calloway's (Bono's) storyline is the terminal illness and death of his wife, which has turned him into a recluse.
- Meena's storyline about falling in love with the ice cream truck owner feels both rushed and boring. She doesn't really grow as a character.
Still, good film for a family. Worth seeing.
