Just spent 2+ hours watching Hold the Dark. About 15-20 minutes in, I paused to consider where this moving was taking me. Then I continued.
The action, acting and plot picked up. But in the end it was a waste of time.
Despite the stark scenery and the cold heartless environment of Alaska, the ending was a dangler. The wolves (primary suspects) were inconsequential and rarely did this movie depict, appreciate and explain how complex wolf packs are.
Casting and cinematic scenery aside, this movie is a dud on the finish and left me with feeling of time wasted. Very disappointing.
