3 stars for Halloween Ends. 5 stars for the triology as a whole.
DGG's three films revived the franchise at a level I didn't think was possible after so many swings and misses. Overall, I tip my cap to the Blumhouse team for making bold choices they knew would be divisive, even if some of those choices missed the mark.
There are plenty of reasonable gripes to make about Ends. Personally, I didn't mind seeing a weakened Myers (owing to his long list of injuries and four years of rotting in a sewer). I just wanted to see more. I wanted to see how he made his way to the sewer after killing Karen and evading years of manhunts. Maybe sprinkle in a few more kills for good measure. This, coupled with a slightly less-forced love story would've landed better for me. That being said, I'll be enjoying this trilogy for many years to come.
