Absolutely horrible! Take a marvelous story, change the storyline, change the characters and alter several plot lines and you get...a disaster! And why not add a bit of racism for good measure. So many opportunities to delve into the characters and make them more realistic, so so may opportunities to make the written page come to live on screen...but no, 'twas not to be. A total waste of time!
