Sandra Hüller is magnificent in this film as is the boy who plays her son. She carries the film and is totally consistent in every scene. She is honest about her flaws and the sadness in her marriage and remains dignified throughout the court proceedings which try to tear her character apart. It is subtle and gripping and the audience were clearly under the films spell. The setting is rural France and a revelation to see a French court in action. Dual languages really brought a different tempo to the exciting script. The dialogue was flawless. A great film
