I really liked it. Good insight into the fact that despite posing advancement to the world, India is still stuck (and lost) in some of its outdated traditions and treatment of women. Just because there are Starbucks & KFC in Mumbai doesn’t mean India has progressed. Loved that Karol character learned thru her own daughter. Loved how they portrayed that the outsider knew Nayan better than her kids. As a single mother, I appreciate the challenge and judgement. All parents do the best we can and sacrifice much without understanding and expectation. Life is interesting and not always predictable. India’s reality is not pretty, just often hidden. Got a bit lost in the different languages but it seems it is common in India to mix Marathi, Hindi & English based on my last visit. But consistency is important and a Marathi Aii would likely not switch from Marathi to Hindi in the course of time with her grandkids. Thus the one less star.
