Although it is a remake, it feels so much better than the original, and the original isn't even bad. The characters are charming, the dungeons are fun, and the music is a vibe. I'm a fan of the Zelda series in its entirety, and this game is one of my favorites of the 2D series.
The only thing I didn't like was some of the lack of insight on what to do, like the last mission where you have to do the trading sequence to get the magnifying glass. They didn't really tell you what to do, so I had to use a guide. But the point of a zelda game is to be challenging and confusing, just not too much.
Another thing I have a problem with is the dungeon maker. Although fun, it has a lot of restrictions. You can't decide what goes in the chests, and you can't decide which doors can be locked. Also there are a lot of pointless rooms. Several miniboss rooms have dead ends or no chests, so it's pointless to place them down. I did like the ability to refight bosses, although I wish I could refight the non-dungeon minibosses lime the king moblin and armos knight (I know you can just use amiibo but you only get one chance and you might get a fairy fountain or something).
