As a history teacher who has watched both versions I think the detail in the recent series is amazing however the first season puts a lot of focus on life before shaka is old which I think brings everything into perspective for the kids.
Considering how we tend to focus on shaka as a king instead of his before.
However, I don't find that some of scenes are very violent.
I throughly enjoyed it!
