A gripping read which gives an insight into the Canadian city lifestyle as well as the opposing countryside getaways. Although the author tells us some of the description is fictional; as an English reader, I began to understand some of the underlying issues that suburban Canadians deal with on a daily basis and as I continued reading, saw how mining and furthermore the non renewable energy crisis effects those who live in such places. This is a compelling book which focuses on the whodunnit as well as bringing up valid environmental issues
