It's NON-canon. Why else should I recommend this?
What if this is your first time experiencing Ninjago and you'll later find out that not all of it is the same as the original? It's not even a good kind of non-canon, because it was made by Warner Bros, where EVERYTHING is non-canon these days, like The Looney Tunes Show, Teen Titans Go, The Banana Splits Movie and even Velma. They've used Jackie Chan, the Hong Kong cinema feel and the wholesome fact that Franco and Theroux recorded their lines together like actual father and son, even though they're not related at all, just to trick us into watching it... and that's just sad. REALLY sad. The moral and the "happy" ending are both half-butt-ed. And what about OTHER ninjas rather than Lloyd? How come HE'S the only one who gets all the attention at the end, despite the fact he IS related to our main antagonist? Lloyd didn't even give the jeer-leaders a taste of their own medicine, which is a BIG bummer. This movie is like a PARODY, they've even used the standard everyday object, like the laser pointer, as "The Ultimate Weapon" instead of just BUILDING it out of Lego.
Overall, just stick to the ORIGINAL Ninjago.
