Twenty years later, a different perspective and lens on a game makes a worlds difference. When I played this game in my younger years, I was saddened….. By the fact that Raccoon City was no more; the atmosphere and creepy tone that overtook the first three entries were no more. Instead, we were placed in a new setting, Rockfort Island. While this game doesn’t hold the place that RE2 or RE3 hold, it certainly left its mark in the series and had a more intuitive plot which pretty much smoked the plot of the previous entries. The 3D backgrounds took getting used to and to this day, it doesn’t look as pretty as the pre rendered backgrounds of the first three, but the graphics are bearable. While Claire was on the Island searching for her brother, many important story points are revealed. Why is it a 5/5? Simple, it’s an important entry which has an epic close on the OG series. After this game, RE was never the same. CV was, and always will be, the final classic RE which was more than worthy of a high rating. In closure, I never liked this game but with a different perspective, I have learned to love and appreciate this classic entry
