Dave Bautista is a truly talented actor. That's the only positive thing to say about this movie. There are many talented child actors in the world and for whatever reason none of them were hired for this movie. I just don't understand why the acting in this movie is so terrible. Is the director so disliked now that he can't even find decent actors to audition for his roles? Or does he not want decent actors?
Again, Bautista did well, but even he felt bogged down by lazy storytelling. And in a movie where CGI is a small element you should at least make it look okay. The CGI in this movie looked like a student trying out effects for their freshmen project. There were moments where I questioned if the hadn't simply used a still PNG to avoid any realistic animating.
On top of all of this as a member of the LGBTQ+ community I felt this movies attempt to discuss prejudice and discrimination was horrifically bad. Again I just come back to the word lazy. Not to mention the unforgivable fake beard that put on Rupert for the flash back scene. They barely showed the person and despite that you could tell the beard was glued on. It looked like a school play.
