Although this novel was only 213 pages long it packed a lot into it.It was not an easy read because at times it was very distressing. The characters were subjected to loss betrayal and heartbraking disappointments .Some issues remained unresolved-much like in real life.Having said all of the above l was moved greatly by by the novel and highly recommend it .

I have read the first four novels by Lars Kepler (husband &wife writing team). These books are dark and disturbing reads (not for the faint hearted!) Spider is no exception .It probably would have helped to have read the previous couple of novels in the series but l was able to deduce what probably occurred. This was terrific but unsettling..again! Joona and Saga are damaged individuals that have to fight their "demons" whilst trying to track down the killer. If you like Mo Hayder these books are for you.

What a wonderful piece of writing -again -from David Mitchell.As a lover of music and born in the mid 40s living through that amazing period (late 50s and on)when rock,folk,soul and reggae music filled the airwaves, this novel captures those times.l sang in a semi professional rock group in Cornwall during the 60s(The Individuals)and was lucky to front some remarkable musicians.This novel brought back fond memories.By the end of the novel l wanted to be able to go out and purchase Utopia Avenue's albums ! I recommend this book..unforgettable.

I have read most of McEwan's novels over the years.This has to be my favourite.Having been born in the 1940's the storyline covers all the major events I've lived through (Cuban missile crisis..New Labour etc)My barathea blazer for Grammar School circa 1958..my first pair of glasses circa 1959 (the fear of ridicule)this novel brought it all back and a whole host of other events.I would urge any lover of fine literature to read this book.Unforgettable characters and storyline. "Moving & masterful" indeed.

This novel failed to hold my interest.A drunk:a lying reclusive writer:a Plume (is it real or imagined..do l care?)a strange website (Orwellian or Kafkaesque) A bizarre and rushed ending. It was a relief to finish it..sadly not for me!picked it up in a charity shop for 50p in hardback.Am happy to return it to the same charity shop for someone else to read and maybe submit a more favourable review.

This was an okay thriller..l agree with a previous review that it may have been a better novel if had been written from the wife's perspective as well.no hesitation in recommending it.

This is the first Mackay novel l've read(an ex library book)so good l read it in three sittings.Scottish gang land skullduggery. Another great Scottish writer .Thoroughly recommended.

I've read all of Arlidge's Helen Grace series and thoroughly enjoyed them. This latest standalone novel is a balanced and thought provoking story dealing with the rights and wrongs of revenge killings. It was so gripping l read it in 3 days. Highly recommended.

Yet another tome of a book (isn't anyone prepared to edit these novels)l struggled to complete the previous book( The Ink Black Heart) even more so this one. Having picked up both in a charity shop for a couple of pounds meant I could live with the disappointment. I much prefer the television adaptations of these novels.
