I saw this movie as kid in the Theaters back in 1981. I saw an opportunity to buy the DVD and watch the DVD about 15-20 years ago. Yesterday I watched the DVD with my son. This movie held up VERY well since it first came out. The epic movie has no discernable dialogue, but you don't need it. The story is well told without words. This adventure moves at a good pace into different environments. This movie has its 'R' moments due to the savagery of their situation. There is Sex, nudity, violence and evidence of canabilism in one of the villain tribes. Brutal conditions for three Homonids on their quest to regain their stolen fire. I would recommend it! The grainy (by today standards) opening credits made me think "this movie is probably not as good as I remembered" but it *is* as good!
