I absolutely loved this book. It was both whimsical and philosophical, a fantastical tale that seamlessly weaves in some takes on the nature of art, beauty, and religion as well. I found it to be highly visual of course, given the subject matter, and wish it could be made into a series or even a movie. The characters and their relationships with each other were all so curiously strange and wonderful - and the mysterious plot unfolded with great intrigue and a surprising amount of tenderness that I was quite touched by. 10/10 would recommend and also re-read. Art history nerds will also greatly appreciate this book. I had to look up some references but it very much enriched my reading experience!
