It is not a blind tasting. Once the judge sees who is competing, they automatically have a bias. It is a somewhat small community of chefs when they are at this value and they pretty much know so much about each others cooking flavors and styles.
The judge should taste the food and score in a private room with out seeing anyone. Only at the end, when all three scores are read, should the contestants know who's judging and the judge finds out who is cooking.
I don't think I'll be watching the show anymore. Next up....Tournament of Champions. Now they have blind tasting!
