My mom and I *looove* this show!! I'm really really hoping it gets picked up for a 2nd season because I'm pretty darn sure there will be no 'nice neat ending' this season. To touch on a few of the more 'controversial' points: Yes, this show is confusing and sometimes difficult to follow and tackles a *lot* of different elements. But those are positive things, to me. I like shows that really make me think, I like to watch an episode and then spend hours picking through every scene trying to figure out where it's going, that's fun to me. It's exciting to not know exactly what's going on, it makes me more interested in tuning in the next week. I've also heard a lot of flack about the returned's loved ones and their reactions... But I think it's realistic. It's been over 5 years, at some point you *do* move on with your life. You fall in love again. You accept the deaths and move past them. Those 5 years didn't magically disappear when the plane came back, Jared, Grace, and others still have these *lives* that they've built for themselves since the disappearances, it's unrealistic to think they should just drop everything they've built and the new love they've created.

My mom and I eagerly await the next episode every single time, this is a wonderful show! As a lesbian who has struggled to find my place among 'religion', any type of religion, this show really speaks to me. There is no lecturing or damnation, no 'you are going to hell for not believing' or beating you over the head with heavy religious themes... Yet at the same time the show is not anti-religious in any respect. The show does what I *wish* society could do in real life: Give different views, show different ways of living, and show people growing and learning and maybe even questioning their beliefs (or lack of). Without judging everyone and putting people down who aren't like you. The main character has his own issues, his own past that sometimes haunts him, but he helps people regardless of their views or how he personally feels about them. If you actually *read* the Bible, that is something we are called to do. Help people. Be kind to people. And leave the judgement up to God. This show is doing a wonderful job of expressing those values without seeming preachy.
