I'll start off by saying that I fly King Airs for a living.
Please do not watch this movie. Do yourself a favor and listen to the actual audio from the incident. It is unbelievable how god-awful this movie is. It really is an insult to everyone, air traffic controllers, pilots, and the actual people that the story is based. The acting is awful, the CGI is awful, the writing is awful. They just make things up the whole time. There was no storm, his wife wasn't in the cockpit with him, his daughter wasn't having an allergic reaction, and the real guy was much more competent in an airplane than they portrayed him to be. Don't even get me started on the aviation aspect of the movie. They got so many things wrong about flying, it would take me over an hour to explain them all. Here are just a few examples: He has a wing strike on his first flight lesson but just goes on as if nothing happened? They gave the King Air weird engine sound effects on startup for some reason. He somehow loses like 10000 feet in five seconds when his wife removes the dead pilot (even though this didn't happen in real life) and then when they pull out of the dive the autopilot somehow didn't disconnect? His wife miraculously knows how to operate radios and look through a checklist. I could go on and on. The most retarded part by far is the guy that is talking to controllers finding the dead pilot's phone number through the pilot registry and then calling the dead pilot's cell phone in a storm, thousands of feet off the ground, and over the ocean and of course the daughter answers the phone for some reason.
If you have more than two brain cells to rub together, please do not watch this movie, it is a flaming pile of garbage.
