I have been an avid consumer of the RE franchise for over a decade I have played the entire series. I have also been a long time supporter of their movie adaptations, I’ve watched both the live action and animated adaptations of the series. In my humble opinion this is the best live action adaptation of the series. While it is not wholly true to the original lore of the RE universe it probably came the closest, we see so many beloved and hated characters from the original video games played by good actors some who are well known from other franchises. In my personal opinion I believe the reason this movie has not received the rating it deserves because of the failure to adapt it perfectly to the video games. But that happens when you adapt a movie from a video game or book series, my advice is to go into the cinema with the realistic expectation that while it does retain some of the original lore this will not be a perfect adaptation. Instead enjoy it for what it is a good live action adaptation to a video game with a complex storyline. I personally will be going to watch this movie for a second time in cinema I definitely recommend it to horror fans and RE fans.
