Although the coordination of cyber attack, drone pamphleting, Havana syndrome antics, etc suggested by the plot are way beyond the capacity of 'rogue armies,' the idea that we're so self-involved and dysfunctional as a society that we can easily be set at each other's throats, to do the invaders' job of taking us down for them, is all too plausible.
