An insightful look into life in the Dustbowl during this time. Particularly when looking at people of colour and people with disabilities, who usually go unmentioned in literature from this era. While the novella shows its age, it is an incredible piece. Steinbeck's writing goes unmatched. His prose and descriptions make this a beautiful read. A personal favourite of mine. Also, the name comes from a poem. My English teacher told us. But seriously, it takes 15 seconds to look it up. idk why people are complaining about it.
