I watch this remarkable film when I'm feeling down and it always gives me a fresh perspective on how much worse things could be. The final leg of Bauby's short but exciting life was swift and tragic, yet the way he handled it -- with insight, wit and incredible honesty and acceptance -- provides valuable reminders that most of us have our own unique life stories and need strength when things hit bottom. I realize (again) that I have no idea what "hopeless" is until I read or watch his amazing struggle and accomplishments.
