My expectations with this tv show might have been too high because I’m terribly disappointed. I started watching it because it was compared to Sex and the City, but while the 90's tv show was ahead of its time in the way it presented women, Valeria seems to be way behind. I have tried to continue watching it but each situation makes me embarrassed. They present women as hysterical and unreasonable, throwing tantrums over things that no woman I know of that age would do. Having extremely toxic behaviors towards their partners, which although it may be a reality, in the show the characters do not really question it; like it is justified because we are “gals”. In my opinion, it is a highly commercial tv show, with very little background. It is sad because it actually has good elements that apparently weren’t well explored. Something to watch when my brain melts, on par with any Disney princess movie.
