I can't exactly remember how I thought about the first film but I felt like there were a lot more boring parts in the second film than the first one. Perhaps there might be a different view than mine but I felt like the feminism was much more forced in this film (however though I kinda understand this as Enola Holmes mother was kind of a sidequest)
My number one complaint about the first film was that there was no buildup of the mystery. I was so used to watching the BBC Sherlock or Sherlock Holmes by Guy Ritchie with all the very clever shots to allude to a clue or hint. Obviously this being a Netflix film there isn't nearly enough talent to replicate that but I liked how they at least tried to craft a mystery with hints through it to keep the audience focused. If they didn't have that I'd honestly have stopped watching it at the halfway mark.
For the performances, Millie Bobby Brown was good, Henry Cavill was good, I'm increasingly finding the love interest annoying and I just feel like the only goal of his character is that he has a crush on Enola. There's nothing much of a character in him. They really downgraded him from the first film
I also found the ending scene in the theatre when the villain is revealed extremely uncomfortable. Their crime is excused because of their identity and that was one of the most awkward things I had to sit through
