This movie is not for normies. The acting is some of the greatest of all time, especially Amy Adams. The music is deployed to profound effect. The writing is otherwordly. The plot is jarring and non linear. The imagery is unsettling and provocative. The mood is tempestuous and foreboding. The interplay is uncomfortable and disconcerting. The character development is enigmatic and open ended.

Gojira has never written a bad song and each successive album ups the ante for musical achievement - this new masterpiece is no exception and represents a quantum leap forward. They transcend and expand the definition of heavy metal with this record, laying down new tangents out of the familiar and coining sounds which have no name yet. Perhaps there will once be a genre called Gojira
