First off, I am very big on aesthetics and sword fighting when it comes to medieval fantasy. This show has beautiful scenery and the fighting is very appealing as it reminds me of LOTR in a certain light. I do wish it happened more often, but I understand the anticipation growth to progress a story.
Speaking of, the other reviews were talking about the books and it seems as though the series may have botched the character development and some of the story. I, for one, have not read the books yet, so I will have to look into it. However, I will admit the story has reached a plateau as the females in this story have taken roles that are irritating and the boys are sissified. The only one that I am interested in is Rand, since his path is not yet chosen. Personally, I think Nynaeve is the must irritating character because she is needlessly stubborn at all times and she has to argue with everything. But I digress.
Lastly, the costumes are pretty bad, especially the Ogier and the female Xerxes' (300 reference) army. I understand trying to be unique, but cheap Halloween costumes are not it. I do want to end on a good note though. Despite being viewed as some of the most powerful creatures and being cut down so easily by a Warder who was terrified of them, the Myrddraal (or the Eyeless) were pretty cool.
