I read Nancy Drew (Hardy Boys and Riverdale, too) from 9-past teenage years and was excited when i heard about the series because i thought i could finally watch it with my daughter. Thankfully, i started ep1 alone, and for a few seconds i thought i played a different show. I don't mind changing a bit off characters and situations if needed, but they changed the whole story so much that they could've just changed the title. They didn't have to make Nancy a self-absorbed, rude, ungrateful b**** just to give a more modern feel. And not everything that happens in real life has to be "encouraged" in movies or on tv.
