Why was this marketed as a family film and why are reviews praising it as such? I saw it when I was 8 and it traumatized me. The themes are interesting, but too heavy + depressing for kids. It had the saddest tone and a frustrating ending. I couldn't sympathize with Fluke/Tom's character and the final scenes between him and Jeff are devastating. Other reviewers say this film has valuable messages but I was too distraught to absorb them. All I liked was the music and cinematography.
