This is a brilliantly deep movie, with extraordinarily complex characters. Easily one of the top 3 movies of the year so far. Both Joel and Nicholas should be nominated for Oscars because of their expert portrayals of a multitude of conflicting and extreme emotions. The films main narrative does evoke serious thought. It challenges the interplay between cause and effect, our choices and the emotional burden driving them; and how this relates to our perception of moral character and redemption. This is not a film for the mentally redundant. Unfortunately there are a few reviews, from those who just don't have enough culture or intellect, to appreciate the absolute stellar film this truly is.
