Being a member of the 9th 2/60th Inf. I read this book front to back in one day. It was as you say my exact words. Although I myself was severely wounded 4/13/67 I finally found out how my Company “B” and company “A” were basically wiped out by inferior front line Officers and their underlings. After I was wounded in Apr. both company’s during the months of May thru July were basically put out of commission by superior Viet Cong forces. It was so bad the entire Brigade was than absorbed into 3/60th and 5/60th to reinforce their loses. By this time I was back in the world where I spent 14-mos in the hospital at Valley Forge in Pennsylvania. From 1967 to now I have made contact with less then 1/2 doz. of my compradres thru “TWS” a website for veterans. I now realize when I pull up info on my old unit behind so many names is one word “Fallen” to this day I thank my Lord for this gift of life and I honor my many friends lost everyday especially on Memorial Day and every moment I can.
Dear God envelope these many young souls who sacrificed their lives to a greater good and now rest in your loving bosom.
