A just-released Viking movie is now showing at Cinemark Theaters - The Northman. I experienced it last night. Having just done some in-depth research on Viking culture, marriage and social structure, raids and migration, slavery trade, funeral rituals, use of plants for various purposes, including psychedelics used by warriors causing berserk savagery; this film obviously was advised and created with expert insights into Viking culture and presented details those knowledgeable would appreciate. The actual human sacrifice and horse sacrifice at a burial ritual parallels an actual hsitorical account I read. Vengeance/retribution is ever present and the key motivation of the protagonist. The film reflects the violent nature of this culture but, in my opinion, was true to it. You may find it an interesting view. The acting was excellent.
